Report: League champions now make contact about signing £30m Chelsea man

It has been reported that Real Madrid have enquired over possibly signing Armando Broja from Chelsea this summer.

According to the Evening Standard, the La Liga and Champions League holders are keen to add a young striker to their ranks, as they look to build towards the future.

The 20-year-old was heavily linked with a potential £30m move to West Ham United, with him even reportedly agreeing personal terms with David Moyes’s side.

However, the club’s, and Tuchel’s reluctance to see him leave on a permanent deal held the Hammers up too long, with them eventually preferring a move for Gianluca Scamacca instead.

Despite this, he could be offered an unlikely escape from Stamford Bridge, with Madrid highlighting him as a potential option.

Real Madrid enquire about Broja

Although, the Evening Standard claim the Blues are preparing for tonight’s pre-season friendly against Udinese, as well as the new season with Broja in their plans.

It appears the Albanian’s desire to play first team football regularly may also see him shy away from a move to the Bernabeu, considering they’re currently unlikely to drop Karim Benzema anytime soon.

Broja should also certainly feel like he could break in to the Chelsea starting line-up, considering he is probably the only recognised striker the club currently have.

Even though Kai Havertz is likely to take on responsibilities from the start of the season, he has so far not proven he is capable of becoming a consistent enough goalscorer to hold off competition for the position

In a team far less creative than Chelsea, Broja showed some of the qualities a Premier League striker needs, with his pace and power causing high-quality defenders a number of problem

If he can get himself some appearances around creative forces such as Mason Mount, Reece James and Ben Chilwell, it is likely he’ll have more than enough opportunities to prove he’s good enough for Tuchel to considers.
