Nottingham Forest have now reportedly enquired about Chelsea player Emerson Palmieri.
According to the Evening Standard, Premier League rivals Forest have made contact about the 28-year-old Blues defender.
It is understood that the full-back is among a crop of players at Stamford Bridge that are potentially planning to leave before the summer transfer window closes.
Forest have turned to Emerson after their £9million swoop for Real Betis star Alex Moreno failed.
Nottingham Forest enquired about Emerson
Steve Cooper’s Forest are extremely busy in this window trying to strengthen their squad following promotion back to the Premier League
The Midlands club have already signed Neco Williams from Liverpool to play as a right wing-back, but they appear to be in the market for a player on the opposite flank.
Emerson, who cost Chelsea £24million back in 2018, would bring pedigree to the Forest XI.
The Italy international won the European Championship with his country, plus has played for some big clubs across Europe.
Unfortunately, the talented left-back hasn’t quite managed to nail down a permanent spot at Stamford Bridge during 71 appearances for the Blues.
He’s been given a squad number at Chelsea for the 2022/23 season fresh off the back of a successful loan at Lyon last year, but rumours suggest he could still leave this summer.
Juventus were linked with a move for Emerson earlier in the window, but the fact Alex Sandro still hasn’t been sold has meant nothing has materialised.
With Ben Chilwell and Marc Cucurella both options for Chelsea at left wing-back, it’s hard to picture Emerson getting too many minutes if he stays at the Bridge this season.
