Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Frank Lampard’s Everton could reportedly miss out on the signing of PSV winger Cody Gakpo to Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
ARSENAL AND EVERTON LINKED WITH CODY GAKPO
Over the weekend, The Sun reported that Everton want to sign Gakpo this summer,
and that manager Lampard himself sent Steve Davis to watch the 23-year-old Netherlands international winger in action against Rangers in a UEFA Champions League qualifier.
FootMercato reported earlier this month that Arsenal are interested in signing the Dutchman this summer.
However, it seems that Arsenal and Everton could miss out on the signing of the winger to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
WILLING TO MOVE TO MANCHESTER UNITED
Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that the Dutchman is open to a move to Old Trafford if United make an official offer to his club PSV.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that the Red Devils want to sign the winger.
COULD ARSENAL OR EVERTON SIGN MANCHESTER UNITED TARGET CODY GAKPO?
In our view, there is still a chance that Arsenal or Everton could be able to sign Cody Gakpo ahead of Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
As Romano has noted in his tweet, the Red Devils are keen on signing Brazil international winger Antony from Ajax this summer.
Antony is only 22, so you have to wonder if United could sign two young wingers from the Eredivisie in the same transfer window.
If the Red Devils manager to sign the Ajax star, then they might not bother about Gakpo, and that would open the door for Arsenal or Everton to make their move.
