Fabrizio Romano says 22-years old is ‘obsessive’ with Manchester United move

Manchester United are expected to push to get a deal for Ajax star Antony done before the transfer deadline.

The Times report he is the top target after the Casemiro deal was struck.

The key to this move is Antony’s desire to push a move over the line.

Fabrizio Romano told his YouTube channel that Antony has told Ajax once that he wants to leave to join Manchester United.

The winger did not train at the end of last week and sat out the club’s Eredivisie match on Sunday.

Antony is ‘obsessive’ with United move

Romano explained: “Antony told Ajax he wants to go to Man United. He’s insisting.

“He’s obsessive with Premier League football and in this case Manchester United.”

Romano added that Ajax are awaiting a new proposal from Manchester United after rejecting an offer last week.

Goal Brasil reported that United are planning to submit a new offer to try and close the deal.

Romano also said the move can hinge on Ajax’s pursuit of Hakim Ziyech, however, Dutch outlet AD claim Tottenham are also hovering for the winger.

A report from Fabrizio Romano last night claimed Antony had also agreed personal terms with United, as speculation over his departure from Ajax hots up.

Ajax were thrown a curveball yesterday when 20-year-old winger Sontjee Hansen told Voetbal International he ‘really hopes’ Antony leaves, to enhance his own chances of breaking through.

Antony would be reunited with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, the manager who signed him for Ajax.

Lisandro Martinez has already made the switch earlier this summer – and Antony last night congratulated him on his efforts in the win against Liverpool. It may not be long until he joins him.
