‘Willing to’: Journalist suggest Arsenal have a chance to make ‘fantastic signing’

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Express journalist, Ryan Taylor, has been discussing Arsenal and theirinterest in Yeremy Pino.

The Gunners have been linked with the Spaniard for a little while now, but, sadly, a transfer hasn’t come to fruition as of yet.

Pino’s asking price has reportedly been enormous with Pino currently having a sky-high release clause of £67.5m.

However, according to Taylor, Villarreal are ready to sanction a sale for far less than his release clause, giving Arsenal a chance to swoop.

Taylor shared what he knows about Pino.

“Another player that has been monitored is Yeremy Pino, but there’s nothing concrete. There are some suggestions that Arsenal have made a bid but that is definitely not the case.

“He’s been scouted and monitored and he’s very much on that radar at the moment. From what we understand Villarreal would be willing to pursue a sale for far less than his release clause,” Taylor said.

Depending on the price, this could be a top-class signing for Arsenal.

In fact, Ben Jacobs stated on The Done Deal Show earlier this month that this would be a ‘fantastic signing’ if Arsenal could get it done for less than Pino’s release clause, and now, that seems like a genuine possibility.

“If Arsenal do business below that clause they’ll have pulled off a fantastic signing. The release clause is over £65m and the feeling is that Arsenal’s interest is in the mid-30s, so it would be a fantastic bit of busines and ambitious as well,” Jacobs said.

In a world where the likes of Anthony Gordon are costing £60m, landing Pino for anything below £40m would have to be seen as a good deal. After all, Pino is younger than Gordon, has a better record and has played Champions League football.

Whether or not Arsenal formalise their interest with a bid remains to be seen, but this is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
