Arsenal have enjoyed a fruitful transfer window this summer, making five new signings.
Now, the Gunners are apparently looking to bring in a new winger.
Arsenal reportedly tried to sign Raphinha earlier this summer, but he joined Barcelona instead.
Now, with less than a week left of the transfer window, the Gunners may yet make one final push for a winger.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with Wolves ace Pedro Neto in recent days.
“Pedro Neto is the main target as new winger,” Fabrizio Romano said on the latest episode of the Here We Go podcast.
“I’m told that Mikel Arteta is a big fan of Pedro Neto. Edu is exploring this possibility since long time.”
Romano then claimed Arsenal have also sent scouts to watch Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby and Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino.
With regards to Pino, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs feels there’s now a “window of opportunity” for the likes of Arsenal to sign him.
Jacobs thinks the La Liga outfit’s financial problems could force them to cash in on their prized asset.
According to Goal.com, Pino has a £67.5m release clause.
However, the north Londoners could bring him to the Emirates Stadium for just £38m, with the Spanish club ‘open’ to a much lower offer.
“A lot of clubs have followed him for a long time and that includes Arsenal and Liverpool as well,” Jacobs told GiveMeSport.
“But there’s a window of opportunity here because of the financial situation at Villarreal’s end.
“And Unai Emery has said on record that if an offer comes in that is acceptable because the club’s finances trump the individual talent that the club like to keep.”
Pino enjoyed a breakout campaign for the Spanish side last year, scoring six goals and adding four assists in 21 starts.
The 19-year-old also featured seven times as Unai Emery’s side reached the Champions League semi-finals.
Pino is very talented, has his whole career ahead of him, and already has a fair bit of experience at the top level too.
Earlier this year, Squawka published a scouting report on Pino, writing that ‘Yeremi’s finishing is remarkable.
‘He has a natural ability to get himself into goalscoring positions through his movement and well-timed runs, and once he’s there, his composure belies his age.’
They also said Pino was ‘among the most prolific dribblers within Villarreal’s squad, and brings great value to Emery’s squad with that attribute and his blistering pace.
‘He is crucial in the transition, and that is why the former Arsenal coach has opted for Pino in games where the counter-attack has been crucial.’
