Arsenal tried to land themselves a new midfielder on deadline day but failed in the end, as the likes of Douglas Luiz evaded them.
The Gunners had been looking to sign themselves a new central midfield player by the deadline.
A number of players had been linked throughout the summer, with the likes of Youri Tielemans, Luiz, and Palmeiras star Danilo all mentioned as potential arrivals.
And while Arsenal did end up missing out on those players, The Express has claimed that Palmeiras are likely to be more receptive to an Arsenal offer in January and could indeed accept a proposal.
The ‘complete‘ Danilo is seen as one of the star players in South America at the moment and Arsenal are well known for having scouts in the region.
Danilo is likely to be a slightly longer term project than the ready made signings like Tielemans and Luiz. However, the Gunners have had success from the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and will see potential in Danilo for the future.
Mikel Arteta is likely to ask Edu to push for more signings in January, especially if a place in the top four is looking likely.
Danilo A Star Of The Future
There’s a reason why Arsenal have deployed their network of scouts to Brazil and South America and Danilo looks like being the next one on their list.
Danilo might not be ready for the rigours of the Premier League right as things stand. But in terms of the future and how he’d fit in with Arteta’s plan, there is plenty to like indeed.
Arsenal have made good signings in recent windows and adding Danilo in January would simply add more strength in depth to a fine looking squad already.
