Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday when they head across London to face Brentford in a 12pm kickoff.
The Gunners will hope to return to the Premier League summit with a victory away at Thomas Frank’s side.
Arsenal go into the game on the back of the 2-1 win over FC Zurich in the Europa League last week.
However, their last league game saw them fall to a 3-1 defeat at Manchester United.
Mikel Arteta has been putting his players through their paces at London Colney ahead of the Brentford game.
Several Arsenal academy players featured – and were pictured – in Friday’s session, including the incredibly talented Lino Sousa.
With Oleksandr Zinchenko reportedly set to miss a couple of weeks, Arteta seems to be looking at other full-backs in training.
And Sousa is believed to be ‘among the best in his country’ at his age level.
Arsenal may have ‘Jordi Alba 2.0’ in their ranks
Arsenal signed Sousa in the January transfer window, bringing him to the Emirates Stadium from West Brom.
The left-back made an immediate impact at age level for Arsenal, playing for both the Under-18s and the Under-23s.
Indeed, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta promoted Sousa to first-team training on a couple of occasions last term.
After travelling to Germany in pre-season, the teenager kept his place in Mehmet Ali’s Under-21s team, following Betsy’s departure to Crawley.
Back in February last year, The Sun branded him as Jordi Alba 2.0.
They claimed he’s ‘in the mould’ of the Barcelona defender, who was one of the best left-backs in the world during his prime.
Meanwhile, The Athletic reported that people at West Brom felt Sousa is ‘outstanding’ and ‘among the best in the country’ at his age level.
