Arsenal were among the teams keen on signing Mykhaylo Mudryk this summer and a move could very much still be on the cards.
Mudryk has been catching the eye of a number of top European clubs, with the Gunners said to be among those teams keen on him. His form for Shakhtar has been eye-catching and he’s previously been labelled as being an ‘unstoppable‘ player on his day.
And now, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, Mudryk is said to be open to moving on from Shakhtar, with Arsenal a very realistic destination. In a series of tweets released by Jacobs this evening, he claims that Mudryk has previously told him he wouldn’t be able to say no to Arsenal, which bodes well for the Gunners.
Elaborating further on the situation, Jacobs adds that it remains to be seen whether Arsenal will actually make their move when January rolls around, with the Ukrainian side said to be asking for £50m plus for the winger.
Certainly, it seems very much like Mudryk will be getting a move to somewhere at some point. The big question for Arsenal fans now is if the club will actually fancy finding the money for another big signing.
Our View: Arsenal Will Go Again In January
This January window promises to be an exciting one purely for the fact that the World Cup will see certain players impress and get clubs in the Premier League interested. That will lead to money being spent again and players getting their dream moves.
For Arsenal, they’re more than likely to be one of the club involved in making signings. Their excellent start to the season means the board are likely to back Arteta if he feels he needs it.
Mudryk is a talent, and if he is signed and Arsenal are still near the top in January, then the fans could begin to start dreaming.
