Well, it would appear as if Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta remains an admirer of Dusan Vlahovic.
The Gunners spent most of January trying to lure the Serbian hitman to North London, only for him to join Juventus in a £66 million deal.
Earlier this week, Sport writer wrote about how Vlahovic might regret having snubbed a transfer to Arsenal, with Arteta’s side top of the Premier League standings now and Juve languishing in eighth place.
However, he could get a second bite at the cherry.
That’s because CMW in Italy have reported that Arsenal are still interested in signing the 22-year-old and if that happens, well the Emirates Stadium outfit could be unstoppable.
The only thing that held Arsenal back last season was goals, with Alexandre Lacazette, their main striker all year, netting only twice from open play.
Defensively, Arteta’s side were exceptional and having conceded seven times in seven Premier League outings this time around, that’ll stay the same.
But if the Spanish manager can pair a striker like Gabriel Jesus like Vlahovic in a two-pronged attack then wow, that could take Arsenal to the next level entirely.
The Gunners could score goals for absolute fun and it would be a fascinating prospect.
Of course, Vlahovic to Arsenal is only paper talk for the moment, but it does come from a reliable source in the form of Calciomercatoweb and it’ll be fascinating to see whether there’s any truth to the speculation.
Considering Arteta’s pre-existing interest in the player earlier this year, though, it seems possible.
