‘Unselfish’; Peter Crouch says he’d love to have played alongside Arsenal star

Peter Crouch has said on his podcast that he’d love to have played alongside Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners brought the Brazil international to the Emirates Stadium from Manchester City in the summer.

Arsenal got themselves their top target up front, a world-class, proven striker in the prime of his career.

And Jesus has hit the ground running under Mikel Arteta, with four goals and three assists so far this season.

Crouch, a Premier League and England international cult hero, sung the Arsenal newcomer’s praises.

The 41-year-old likes Jesus’ unselfish nature, and feels he’d have scored plenty in a front two with the Gunners ace.

Crouch, speaking on his podcast, responded when asked about which striker he’d most like to play with.

“I think it would be either (Roberto) Firmino or Jesus,” he said, as transcribed by Sportskeeda.

“For me they’re unselfish, players I could play with and feed off.

“They sacrifice themselves, you have to be selfish and I would be selfish in this scenario.”

Crouch added that, while he would have loved to play with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, he doesn’t think he and the Norwegian would complement each other.

“Playing with Haaland would be great,” he continued. “But I don’t think we’d complement each other and he’d probably score more than me!”
